It’s almost like being broke gives some men extra confidence to talk. “Women of nowadays only want money… women no get respect again… Nigerian girls too like enjoyment.” You’ll hear all the plenty grammar, but if you check well, the same man can’t even afford to take a woman out without borrowing airtime.
The truth is, many of these loud opinions are not from wisdom, but from frustration. Lagos traffic plus empty wallet is already enough stress. So when they see women doing well or demanding standards, it feels like an attack. Instead of humbling themselves to grow, they use talk to cover shame.
Let’s balance it though. Not every rich man has sense, and not every broke man talks too much. But the pattern is clear: the less a man is willing to invest in himself, the more energy he has to complain about women. Real men know that silence, focus, and hustle speak louder than empty talk. Proverbs 14:23 says, “All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”
So ladies, when you hear one uncle shouting about how women are ungrateful, look closely. Many times, it’s not wisdom talking… it’s hunger. And guys, instead of using your voice to drag women, use it to pray, plan, and network. Opinions don’t pay rent.
At the end of the day, the question is simple… will you be remembered as the man who complained about women, or the one who built himself so well that women couldn’t stop respecting him?
